Photo Tag

I was tagged along with all the other cousins. This in't really the 4th of the 4th either, but like minz I found an oldie, but goodie. This was taken when my 3 sons were all still very small and innocent and I was trying out some sweet photo cropping gadgets. These boys are definitely right inside my heart. I love them to the core. I tag:
Mom and Dad
Brother 1 and wife
Brother 2 and wife
Brother 3 and wife
and my great friend Chauna. It's ON my friends!

These sons of mine...

MORGAN- It ain't easy bein' young. While we were at Mam's house, Morgan was feeling very very bored. He was expressing his thoughts on being left out of going to the Stake dance with his older brothers by spinning around and around in circles and very loudly calling out each time he passed the chair. So after about 5 minutes and 75 or so spins he quit and went into the bathroom. He came out and said he was sick. Yeah I'll bet! It makes me sick just typeing this up and thinking about it. Yuck!

REID - Stuck in the middle again. Usually we don't have time to stop off for A snack before work, but I decided to break with tradition on this particular day. I like to keep em guessing

Heading in to work.

I asked Ried to take my coat and Hunter's coat out to the car. He put my coat on over his and then Hunter's on over that. We had a good laugh. Hunter's coat is huge!

Life with teens is a roller-coaster ride. Up and down, up and down. It's definitely an adventure. I always used to say I couldn't wait til they were grown, but I'd be happy to turn back the clock for a while.I think I'd like to turn back time to when they were little. Like 4.

We have some of the cutest home videos ever and we watch them often and it reminds me of how innocent little children are.
Here is a video they shot some years ago.

Let me just post this video as a little reminder of days not too far past.

HUNTER- Definitely the oldest and biggest for now.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This year Halloween was a little weird. It was just Morgan and me.
Hunter and Reid chose to work instead of having the day off, because it was the last day of the pay period. We did a whole lot of nothing for most of the afternoon and then we got Morgan's costume ready and went to Mom and Dad's old neighborhood (where Morgan's friends live) to trick or treat. We walked around the neighborhood with some of his friends at a VERY slow and doddling pace and then went to mom and dad's for a visit and then to Mindy's for a visit.
Halloween is usually so hectic, but with one kid it's a breeze.
We had a lot of practice on this Dracula face. Morgan dressed in his costume 3 different times for ward parties and Halloween.

I really loved the nerd costume. For Halloween day at school they couldn't wear face paint or masks and they were having a "vocabulary" parade so their costume was supposed to reflect their word. Morgan chose "geek" so we made a pocket protector and some glasses. He was very proud and had a great day. I think you gotta be pretty confident to rock a costume like that one!

The Bishop and his wife...........Popping Balloons at the party... The Olsen's

My costume for the ward party. The first counselor saw me as we were coming in the door and said "oh Wonder Bread. Great costume." It took me a minute to figure out what he was saying. I probably should have dressed up like Sponge Bob again.

Pumpkins

So we did a little pumpkin carving last week. It started out as a family gathering and ended with just me Hunter and Morgan finishingup the pumpkin carving a day later.

I found something that makes scooping out the inside of a pumpkin a BREEZE. Use a metal ice cream scoop. They are sharp and just the right shape for scooping. It worked great.

This pumpkin says Hunskiez in case you might be wondering. It's Hunter's new logo for himself.
And Morgan carved the cat pumpkin all by himself. He picked out the pattern and punched it out and then cut it out. I was pretty impressed. I don't think I would have been able to do that when I was 10.

Here is the final product

I found out that once they are carved, pumpkins have a very short and unstable shelf life in a warm house. On Mine ( it's the one that says Casey) The words caved in by the very next morning. And Morgan left the lid on his which grew black mold and lots of it after only 2 days.

When I was coming in from the storage room where I was looking for the paints in my art things for this pumpkin creation, I saw something drop down on the wall.

It was this humongous black widow. Don't worryI killed it first before I picked it up, but even knowing it was dead I was totally creeped out and I have been on spider patrol every minute since then. The thing was HUGE!!!

A FEW THINGS

First...

Morgan got sick the other day(mostly in the head) he had a neck ache and his eyes were hurting AND he was nauseated, but not until after ma'am said " Oh Jana, you need to watch him those are the symptoms for ... Oh what is it?" and I said "Meningitis?" So we looked up the symptoms and then It was time to go pick up Reid & Hunt from work so we left. I was stressed out for the rest of the night until 2:30 in the morning fretting about whether he would be alive in 4 more hours if I just took a little nap. (He is still alive.)

Next... Morgan came to me yesterday saying"Mom do you have anything for itching?" I took a look at the itching places and discovered hives all over his body (Which he apparently got after eating Shrimp so I guess he will have to be like his mom and go without). When Christa came over a little later he trounced up to her and said proudly "I've got hives" her reply was what you'd expect "oh really?" But then later, Reid's response to the same announcement was "Well stay away then" and even later when he tried to get a rise out of Hunter he got "Well get away from me I don't wanna be catching that". I had a bit of a chuckle while explained that you can't "catch" Hives.

Last but not least...
I'm always so impressed each time I see something that a family member has made. Cute children of course are at the top of the list, but I'm not sure you can take credit for that, so sorry.

Mom made that absolutely awesome wreath, Christa made some square beanbag blocks for Bianca ( go ahead, try to say that three times fast.) Check out thepicture above from "Babinski's Baby" to see a version of those same type of blocks, Melinda and Carey made cute bows for their babies and Dan made "sausage fingahs"...

(All thanks for the creative genes go to our Parents and Grandparents of course.)
If I've left anyone out it's because I didn't know you made something so leave me a comment so I can give props where due.

It's fixed!

Yay... It took me forever to figure it out nd I am not exactly sure what it had to do with, but probably the music since it's the only thing that hasn't been added again.
anyway.. hope no one else encounters the issues.

Another fun weekend...

Alas and alack... it must come to an end. In the words of my young nephew, "Thanks for showing me how to do this. I believe I could play this all night."
And as my young neice said, "I believe I will take my marbles elsewhere".
Reid in 1996 in reply to Hunter complaining about an uncle being "naughty" (ie:mean), "wuz Ee huh bwudder, wuz Ee, wuz Ee? Well, I wiwll go an beat him out to duh snow".
It's always nice to know, if only in passing, a charming human being.

This is the "before the haircut" photo... This is the "after" photo... This is the funniest video! Infact I really had to try not to laugh while I was shooting it!

The End...

My job at the hotel has come to an end. I have to say I was not too happy at first, but I am so relieved (literally) now. I've been reading back over the last year since I got the job and the few times i posted it was all about how hectic and stressful it was. I did love working there at first, but it got to be overwhelming. I'm taking a short much-needed vacation this weekend and then I will look for work next week.

Yay for sisters...

One showed me how to have a cute background so I finally have a cute blog like everyone else.

UpDate...

The boys start school in just one week. It seems like time is flying. Really flying.

I got a Raise at the first of July. It was a lot of money for a yearly raise and bumped me up 4,000 dollars into a new tax bracket, but after uncle sam got his grimy hands all over it the raise amounted to 100.00 a month.

Enough to buy a little more food for the horses I feed every day.

Have you met them? Their names are Hunter Reid and Morgan.

I have not had a day of for so long it seems like I live at the hotel.

I have finally found somone to hire that will maybe make it to the Assistant GM spot someday. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I worked from home today so I was only there for an hour and i got to go to church for 2 sundays. Last week only sacrament, but this week was sunday school and sacrament. Next week Reid will be ordained so i will be there for all 3 meetings! WAHOO!

Always Running- Never catch up...

I'm so busy at work with actual work that I never have time to sit and play around on my computer any more and I am being left in the technological dust! I feel like i am way behind the times. Every one else has such lovely blogs and mine is plain old Jane... Well Plain Jana anyway.

Sorry family that I never have time to post new info or respond to the old until after it's really old.
Please be patient.

Money makes the world go round...

Or at the least it buys a lot of plants and a new washer and dryer!

WE love our new washer and dryer. The washer is so silent that it's hard to tell that it's even washing. its AWESOME!!!!!

The plants were just to make our living room look like a jungle and to make me happy. We have some tulips and dafodils growing out in the front of our little rental house and we got our front yard all cleaned up and pruned up last weekend so we're looking forward to spring this year.

I hear that some of my siblings will be moving a little closer to this region and that is great. It would be sweet if I found out a little more detail and if it came by way of a phone call once in a while, but whatevah!

Work is still work, but I still enjoy it most of the time and it does provide me with the green I need to make my world go round.

I made it...

I was given the promotion finally! I went to the General Manager Class and passed it and they promoted me to General Manager and gave me a 3.00 raise and put me on salary.

I think it may be a good thing eventually.

Daniel wrote to me to say that it was reee- diculous that I still had a Christmas story up on my blog so I decided I better hop to and get it changed.

The boys are healthy. I don't know about happy, but healthy. We have a few issues to work out.

There have been some crazy happenings at the hotel. There was so much ice and snow on the roof on the north side of my building that it caused a bunch of water damage and the roof was breaking in about 35 spots. The contractors had to come and climb up on the top of the 3 story building and chip off the ice and snow so the leaks would dry up. While they were there I had to leave town again to go to a class in Salt Lake City. I am now a certified Pool Operator too. So My name looks like:
Jana Casey GM, CPO
